Results From My Vaginal Swab Showed PUS Cells Are 50plus. Taking Anti Biotics. Worried About The Findings?

I've got the result from my vaginal swab from the clinic and the doctor explained my PUS cells are 50plus and he said women should be no higher than 15. He's given me anti biotics and will get back to me in 7- 10 days if the lab shows anything else. Is this a std and something I should be worried about and can this just occur or something I've had in a long time?

Hi, thank for using healthcare magic

Pus cells would occur in any infection and do not necessarily indicate that the infection is sexually transmitted.

The lab would identify the specific bacteria involved and this information would then be used to determine if it is a sexually transmitted infection.
It should take 3 to 5 days for at least a preliminary result.

I hope this helps
