Right Knee Hurt And Swollen. Advise Me To Get Rid Of The Pain

Hi I played basketball since high school. Me and a girl hit both of our knees. I felt like my right knee pop. After 6 months to a year my right knee started swollen like a golf ball. Then the pain is starting to hurt very bad. The color of my knee turns black or purple. Can you give me any advice how to get rid of this pain I have in my right knee. Thank you

Hello dear,

The symptoms can be attributed to injury/ pathology in soft tissues in the knee joint, most probably ligament injury.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained with anti inflammatory preparations like Ibuprofen, ice application & application of analgesic+muscle relaxant gel.
Physiotherapy exercises will also be helpful.
If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an Orthopedician for proper clinical examination.
Investigation like X ray & MRI of the knee joint will be helpful in detecting the pathological cause for the symptoms.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
