i had 2 ruptured ear drums following a severe influenza almost 3 weeks ago now went to hospital they gave me antibiotic script and sent me on my way... my left ear has healed perfect but my right ear smells so bad it made my partner vomit , its not bleeding or pussy anymore just leaks a bright yellow liquid occasionally now can i use hydryo peroxide to flush it out to help rid of the smell???

Foul smelling, yellowish discharge in right ear indicates persistent infection in ear. If there is a hole in ear drum you should not put hydroperoxide into ear. you need to get ear discharge culture, and correct antibiotic treatment. Once infection is controlled you need to get operated for your ear drum perforation. Consult your doctor for examination and management. Hope I answered your question. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE CAUSE OF DRUM RUPTUREAS IN VIRAL INFECTION WHEN WE GIVE PARACETAMOL AND ANTIBIOTICS THE SECRETIONS DRY UP IN THE USTACHIAN TUBES CAUSIN PRESSURE TO BUILD UP IN EAR CAUSING RUPTURE OF DRUMS YOU NEED TO SEE SINUS CONDITION BY GETTING XRAY PNS WATERS VIEW AND TREAT IF THRE IN CONSULTation with doctor you start wih metronidazole 200mg bd for 7 daays to dry the discharge and smell take antiallergy to reduce the further secretions and liquify present one add antacid to prevent gerd apply neomycin h ointment in nose and sea water 2 drops at night to clear back of throat and eustachian tubes apply antbiotoc mixed with antiallergic ointment in external auditory canal put antibiotic drops in ear top dry the discharge avoid water in ears continue 3 wk as the puncture is latest it will heal slowly andautomatically
