Scalp Psoriasis. No Help From Shampoos With Coal Tar, Salicylic Acid, Almond Oil. Any Other Solution?
Hi, I have scalp psoriasis which I've had since September and will not go away! I have used shampoos with coal tar and salicylic acid and its still here. These days I just apply almond oil a few hours before I shower as it helps to soften the skin and then wash with coconut shampoo. Are there any other decent ways of getting ride of it as it is even painful for me to tie up my hair. Thanks
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic Shampoo with coal tar and salicylic acid is not a main treatment but an adjuvant treatment. You may use a steroid lotion over the plaques after head bath eg: (Betamethasone dipropionate lotion), Get this prescribed by your doctor.
Avoid alcohol and painkillers. Keep the stress levels down, sleep well and practice relaxation exercises like yoga or meditation. Treat any infections like upper respiratory infections fast , these can also flare up psoriasis. Hope this helped Take care
