Scar From Painful Pimple On Breast, Reddish, Bumpy, Occasionally Itchy, Spreading. Suggestions?
Hi, I am 37 years old, mother of three kids and I have no med history of any kinds of cancer. Around 12 years ago I had a painful pimple on my breast, which burst on its own and I never worried about it; however it left a scar. Recently I feel the reddish scar which feels bumpy and sometimes itchy is spreading a little bit. I am getting worried. I have breast fed all my three kids. I dont have nay kind of pain in my breast and overall I am a healthy person.
Sorry to hear about your problem. A red, itchy scar over the breast could be because of two conditions. It could either be due to eczema (more common), which is benign condition associated with itching and curable with topical steroid creams. The other condition is known as Paget's disease and is usually associated with an underlying cancer. I dont mean to scare you, but it is better to get it evaluated by a surgeon and rule out cancer.
Hoping for the best.
