Scheduled Echocardiogram After Being Diagnosed With Heart Murmur. Is It Something Serious?
I saw my doctor yesterday for a routine check up and she found that I have a heart murmur she ordered a echocardiogram it might help to mention that I am 56 female I didn't have any symptoms that I was aware of then today all day I have been feeling a strong pulse in my right side neck it come about once every minute. Should I be concerned about this? Other than that it is driving me crazy I feel fine
To answer your Question , I would like to explain to you that Heart murmurs are abnormal heart sounds which are normally not present when we doctors listen to your heart. this may or may not be very serious . It happens usually if there is problem with heart valves and other conditions and some time its not related to heart at all, for example if some body's Hemoglobin is low. But if your doctor has found it , it needs investigating and ECHOCARDIOGRAM will make it clear what we are dealing with. Again even if its a valve problem it can be in an early stage and now a days in our country treatment is available . So, wait for ECHO, don't panic which might aggravate situation and speak to your Doctor. You can let me know the result of Echo for further advise.
