Sciatic Pain In Both Legs, MRI Showed Central Disc Prolapse, Surgery Suggested. Should I Wait?
Hi, I have been suffering with sciatic pain in my left leg for a year now, this is a result of a large central disc prolapse which was seen on an MRI scan 3 years ago although I had no symtoms at that time. Over the last 2-3 weeks I have developed sciatic pain down my right leg as well. I saw my orthopaedic surgeon in June when he told me I would need surgery. I am currently on his "urgent" waiting list but as yet have not been given an appointment he said it could be August on the other had it couuld be as much as 18 weeks. My question is should I tell my GP about the right leg pain or just continue to wait for my appointment with the surgeon. Thanks
Hi, You may take pain reliever medicines from your doctor till you get appointment with your orthopedic surgeon. Meanwhile you may go for physiotherapy. Take some B1,B6, B12 capsules or injections. Ok and take care.
