Scientific Name Of Syphilis?

Hello. I am doing a science project on the disease Syphilis, but I cannot find it s scientific name. One site told me it s Treponema pallidum, wile others tell me it s caused by Treponema pallidum. So what s the name? Thank you for the help in advnace.
