Seizures, Headache And Swelling Behind The Head After An Accident. Is This A Cause For Concern?

My son was in a car wreck Saturday. He was not seen in the emergency room because his girlfriend was injured and he was worried about her. Today he has a knot on the back of his lower neck and says he has a headache. He said his girlfriend thought he had a seizure last night. He told me 2 different times today he was swollen on the back of his head. I am worried there is something really wrong with him.

Hi there,

Thank you for choosing healthcaremagic.

As you mentioned you son was in a car wreck and now he is having some red flag signs like headache and seizures.

He needs to be taken to the ER immediately without delay since he may have had a bleed in his head which needs to be evaluated urgently.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Regards,
Dr. Sumeet.
