Severe Depression, 10 Weeks Pregnant. Stopped Thyroid Medication, Took Nitrous Oxide. Any Harm To Baby ?
I am currently pregnant 10 weeks and have severe depression . I have stopped taking my thyroid Medication in hope of having a miscarriage , I also hooked myself up to nitrous oxide at 50% today in hopes of having a miscarriage. Now I am having second thoughts and I wonder what kind of harm I have caused my baby. Will it show up in a cvs? Should I continue on with a planned abortion later this week? I also have smoked about 8-10 cigarettes. I m scared the harm I may have caused is irreversible. Please help. I am not sure I want to go on with this pregnancy but I may. What type of birth defects are caused by low thyroid and nitrous oxide?

hi welcome to hcm.see u should deteriorate ur plus ur fetus health by discontinuing thyroid tab plus smoking which may produce birth defect into ur fetus.see u have to concern gynec go for sonography to see the development of ur child,as per ur doc advice further do acc that.don't be too much stressed because whatever u do during pregnancy it affect your fetus growth so be cheerful and happy.birth defect like mental retardation,any kind of physical defect,respi problem etc.so immediately advice ur gynec do complete check up and avoid smoking must.

Your depression appears to be affecting your judgement. I would suggest you see your doctor urgently for help and support with your depression and making the right decision regarding your pregnancy. Start taking your thyroid medication. The nitrous oxide will not have caused harm to the baby. Seek help to stop smoking if you are going to continue with the pregnancy.
