Severe Lower Back Pain, Hip Pain, Knee, Ankle And Neck Pain, Affecting Sleep.
Hi Dr. Im a 43yr old woman thats been dealing with severe lower back pain , hip pain knee, ankle and neck pain . Its also affecting my sleep thru the night. It feels like its in my joints, muscles. Night time and mornings are the worst otc meds just do not help. I havent been to see a dr yet but could you tell me what it might be? Thank you

Ankylosing spondylitis typically involve spine and hips with other large joint also. There is reduced chest function in this disease. Stiffness in spine is increased does she have such stiffness in spine?
NSAIDs, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) are sometimes prescribed in more severe cases. These include methotrexate and sulfasalazine.
