Severe Pain In Either Throat Or Chest, Abdominal Area Or Stomach, Severity Of Pain Increasing. What Next ?
My non-verbal 33yr old son for the past 8 mos. has had severe pain in either the throat area, or chest, abdominal area, or stomach. It can happen either when trying to eat/drink or just sitting/laying around. He has gotten to the point of not eating/drinking because of the severity of the pain. Have had lots of test, have found tumor on liver, several heart problems, but nothing that would be causing this type of pain. I don't know what to do next, because of his rare syndrome LGS he cannot be put to sleep for some test. His seizure's are going even more crazier than normal. Could you point me in a direction of what else it may be? Thank you and God Bless
Hi, due to his tumour in the liver he can have gastric hyperacidity, and gastro oesophageal reflux. As you said there is exacerbation of seizures, means increase in the intrcrnial pressure, or cerebral ischemia, causing the vague pains. For gastric related pains i to my patients prescribe omeprazole, domperidone, and anaesthetic antacids. For neuralogical pains i advise you to consult a neurologist for relief of symptoms and seizures. Thank you.
