Hi,

Based on the information it does seem like a potent side effect from Metformin.
Here are few other side effects from metformin.
1) muscle pain or weakness;
2) numb or cold feeling in your arms and legs;
3) trouble breathing;
4) feeling dizzy, light-headed, tired, or very weak;
5) stomach pain, nausea with vomiting; or
6) slow or uneven heart rate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A) You did the best thing to stop taking it.

B) Now ask your physician to have replacement drug for metformin.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

C) Please relax their is no withdrawal for metformin. Simply it may cause high blood sugar till you will find the good replacement drug for it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the query.
