Severe Pain In Lower Abdomen. History Of Bleeding Ulcer. Taking Metamucil. Suggestions?
Hello I have been having severe pain in my left lower quadrant of my abdoman it radiates down and makes it hard to move. I have had bleeding ulcers which I didn't realize until it was very severe. I also take metamucil and mineral oil which has helped quite a bit. I just want to make sure I can ignore this and hope it passes.I do have a bleeding disorder which no one has been able to diagnose, I have bled out 4 times so that the last surgeon said he would touch me again, my e mail address is YYYY@YYYY
Hi ! Although metamucil itself may cause some abdominal cramping or pain as a side effect in some, from the history of your pain, it seems related more with your renal system. Lt renal pain can give rise to similar pain with radiation down. There could be a stone in the left renal area, which can be known with an abdominal ultrasound or plain X ray abdomen. If you have got some urinary symptoms, then this corroborates more to a renal problem. The bleeding disorder might also give rise to clot formation in the renal system which might give rise to the pain which will pass off once the clot passes out. I would suggest you to consult and discuss with your family physician on these aspects for further clinical examination, investigations and management.
