HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different possible causes of delayed period: (1) abnormal levels of thyroid hormone

(2) physical stress or illness

(3)emotional stress

(4)abnormal levels of a hormone called prolactin. This is released in the brain, if there are increased levels , it can cause period delay

(5)PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome- this condition is diagnosed if there are at least 2 of the following: (a)irregular or delayed periods (b) cysts on the ovaries seen on ultrasound- this may contribute to the pain that you are experiencing
(c) signs and symptoms of increased levels of male hormones- abnormal hair growth, acne, high testosterone on blood tests

Your doctor may consider performing some blood tests (thyroid function, prolactin , testosterone) to determine if any of the above is contributing to your pain.
An ultrasound may also be needed.

I hope this helps
