Shadow Behind Eyes. What Could This Be?

My mum has a shadow behind 1 of her eyes, she is 59 yrs old, wears glasses for reading, only symptom she is showing is vision issues, but can see when wears glasses. she has epilepsy , and is aneamic. she was sent for an eye test in an opticians whereby they can use a machine they didnt have in her local opticians..dye was placed in her eye and still the shadow was there, can you shed any light on what this may be? her gp is doing blood tests to test for diabetes .

Hello

From the description given by you, it appears that your mother is suffering from some lenticular changes in the affected eye which causes the shadow in the vision. Initially this can be corrected with glasses but the change of glasses will be very frequent. In my opinion, you should visit an eye specialist instead of an optician and in case your mother is not able to carry out the routine activities of her life, she should go for a IOL implant.
