HI
Thank for asking to HCM
This may not be because of compression of vertebrae, but for sure it is the cervical problem there must be some pathology, for exact reason the spine hast to be tested with imaging study, but before that I would like to advise you that you should try cervical collar and have some vitamin supplements particularly vitamin B 12 along with some NSAID therapy and the "Diclofenac" is the drug of choice take good care of your neck, I am sure this will come around and you wont be in need of going for any test have nice day.
