Sharp Pain In Fingers, Lump, Swollen, Paining While Bending Tip Of Finger. Cure For Symptoms?

today i went to lif a cup of coffee as i put my finers round the handel of cup to grasp i all of a sudden has this sharp pain in one of my fingers as if it was being snapped now a little lump has appeared and is a little swollen just at the joint near the finer nail i can bend at the knuckle it is fine but to try bending at tip of finger is very painful . feel silly as how can this happen liz x

Thank you for consulting HCM.The symptoms you have mentioned suits for inflammatory osteoarthritis as it is sudden onset pain and swelling and you can see changes by using anti inflammatory drugs.It may also be a ganglion cyst but it will be easily diagnosed and it is pliable to touch.So if it is inflammatory type of osteoarthritis its better to be diagnosed as i already mentioned NSAIDs are used to treat that and even some times sterois injections are given at the site.Thank you.
