Sharp Pain In Lower Abdomen, Pain Aggravates When Blowing Nose. Solution?
Hi I exerted myself whilst cleaning myself after passing my stool . I was pushing whilst bending and cleaning and this is where I felt a pain in the lower left side of my abdomen below my belly like it was a muscle pull. After a few hours pain was gone. Now recently has come back in exactly same area and is getting worse case every time I blow my nose I feel the pain more sharply. It is like every time I pass stool or blow my nose hard the pain gets worse. Please explain what this could be. Many thanks.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
It is possible that you could have strained or pulled a muscle in your abdominal wall. Whenever you cough or blow your nose or strain to pass stools, the abdominal pressure increases, thus transmitting pressure on the abdomianal wall. This could be that cause of the pain when doing these activities.
I don't think you need to be worried about this. With rest, the muscle strain should greadually get relieved and the pain should suside. I would suggest that till then, you avoid strenuous work like bending down and lifting weights, etc.
Wish you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
