Sharp Pain In Rectum Area, Heterosexual. What Is It ?
Hello, I am 51 year old healthy male who is pretty active. 5' 9" 170 lbs and experiencing a sharp pain which feels like it's in my rectum area. The website's closest thing was pain between scrotum and rectum. I'm heterosexual so nothing goes in the rectum, fyi. :)
Paternal grandfather died of colon cancer at age 72.
Hello. The causes of pain in rectum area may be differents. Hemorrhoids is a possible diagnosis (you could feel a lump around the anus). Anal fissure is another diagnosis to consider.About colon cancer ,the most common symptoms are bleeding with bowel movements and changes in depositional rhythm (constipation alternating with diarrhea)but is another diagnosis to consider by your family history. You should go to your doctor. If he sees perianal pathology (hemorrhoids or fissure) in the exploration , he will give you the proper treatment. If your doctor does not see perianal pathology, colonoscopy is a sensitive test to rule out other pathologies. I wish you good health.
