Sharp Pains In The Stomach For Over A Week. Any Treatment?
Dr., my niece is 14 years old and has had problems with her stomach for two years. She has recently been suffering from sharp pains in her sides and her stomach. The poor girl cries all the time with pain. No one here seems to be able to find anything wrong with her. I am really praying that someone can help her. It is so sad to see her suffer like this. Can you give me any advice to help her? She has had the sharp pains for over a week now. She gets so bad that at times she thinks about suicide....( but you did not hear that from me).
Do not get depressed. She requires proper examination and management of the same. Stomach ache could be because of several causes. There are several organs in the stomach and lot of problems to them can cause severe pain. Without a physical examination it is very difficult to suggest any thing. Please contact your doctor immediately. Please get help from psychiatrist if she is getting ideas of suicide at the earliest possible.
Continue to ask further queries. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty, M.D. (Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics.
