Sharp Shooting Pain In Two Toes On My Left Foot, Took Motrin
I have two toes on my left foot that have been bothering me. Without warning I get asharp shooting pain in them and after the pain subsides they are very sore. My A1C level is a 6. I also get cramps in both feet from time to time. The pain in my toes happen 5 times today and I took some Motrin for the pain.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Sharp shooting pain in the foot is an indication of a nerve compression. In addition cramps in the legs also point towards the same. Cramps can also occur because of an electrolyte imbalance in the body.
An HbA1c level of 6 is on the borderline but still taken as normal. You should get it done at regular intervals to keep a tab on your blood sugar levels. Meanwhile, you should get yourself checked by a neurosurgeon. He may advise you an MRI ((magnetic resonance imaging) to rule out any nerve compression. Also get a serum electrolyte level done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma amman
