Sharp Stabbing Pain At The Right Of Chest With Breathing Trouble, Heaviness On Breathing. Serious?

Hi, just a few moments ago I had a sharp stabbing pain on the right side of my chest and I had trouble breathing . It feels heavy when I breathe. I have been having problem to breathe for quiet sometime now and I had to take deep breaths. Whenever I do a little hard work, my heartbeat will increase very fast and my chest will start to feel heavy and painful. Is there something wrong with me?

Emergency Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi Hannaazad,
It wiil be of help if you mention your age and any previous medical history, if any.
I will also like to know whether you smoke or have any cold or cough or had some injury on the right side of your chest.
Please get a X-Ray of your chest done.
Cardiac pain is usually on the left side or in the centre of the chest.
Your pain can be due to increased acidity or gas in the stomach.
Please get yourself examined and investigated by a medical professional.
I hope this is useful to you.
Thanks.

Pulmonologist Dr. Arnab Maji's  Response
Hi
Thanks for quey
Your history is suggestive of right sided pleural effusion. You should have a chest x-ray PA view to look for pleural effusion and if present then should have a diagnostic as well as therapeutic pleural fluid aspiration to diagnose the cause of effusion and releive your symptoms. Therefore you should consult a pulmonologist immediately and get yourself locally examined.
Thank you.
