Sharp Stabbing Pain Behind Left Ear, Had Bad Tooth Removed Also. Still Paining. Any Ideas ?

boyfriend has been experiencing a sharp stabbing pain behind his left ear. he thot it might be a bad tooth so he had it pulled today but he is still having the bad pain. he recently began a new job assisting a blacksmith with long hours standing at a grinder, but it seems so much more severe than a pinched nerve. any ideas? he is in bed now in agony between the tooth being taken out today and the pain behind the ear. its the left ear .. any ideas? do i need to take him to emerg?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
You need to definitely take him to ENT Clinic for emergency consultation.
Examination of oral cavity and throat is very much urgently warranted to rule out Periodontitis or Peritonsillitis or Trigmenial Neuralgia.
Sincere advice - DO NOT DELAY.

Wishing your boyfriend a quick recovery.
