I am 30 yrs girl.
Earlier my periods were regular & lasted for atleast 3 days.
but gradually the bleeding has reduced to 1 1/2 days.
before my periods start i find scanty powdered blood particles for 1-2 days , then i find 1-2 spots for 1-2 days then nothing for next 2-3 days & finally my periods start & lasts for 1 1/2 days.
I am scared that m I suffering from early menopause.

Pls suggest me some good medicine.

Hi,

You are most likely having luteal phase defect. A hormonal condition that occurs due to low hormones in the last part of menstrual cycle. The scanty blood particles must be clotted blood that gets collected in the vagina and comes out later.

There are many reasons for this including defects in thyroid, obesity or extremely low weight, endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. Such bleeding may also occur in the perimenopausal period.

Another reason could be that the amount of bleeding decreases over the reproductive years in some women and this may as well be a normal phenomenon.

The best way to understand if this is due to menopause is do a blood LH, FSH test. If the levels are all right, then menopause is ruled out. In that case have an ultrasound to look for causes in ovaries and possible cysts.

If you were my patient, I would advise a PCOD profile on day 2 or 3 of the periods. The LH and FSH are part of this profile so menopause will also be ruled out.
I would also suggest a low fat, low carbohydrate diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and regular exercise to help decrease weight. Weight loss also corrects many minor hormonal imbalances.

Hope I was able to help you.
