Shortness Of Breath, Headaches, Stomach Ache, Increasing Pulse Rate. What Can Be Done?
My ten year old daughter 4 5 7 wieghts around 55-60 lbs. She complains at various time of shortness of breath. She has also complained of headaches & stomach aches & says I just don t feel good. I measured her pulse today after one complaint & thought I counted around 48 beats/minute. This doesn t seem to occur at given times or after certain activites-it s rather random.
your daughter is suffering from sinus bradycardia or complete heart block ,third-degree heart block may also be congenital and has been linked to the presence of lupus in the mother.
please go to cardiologist and investigate ( ECG- for seeing rhythm , ECHO- rule out any congenital heart disease) and lupus, hypothyrodism.
shortness of breath is due to bradycardia
parmanant pacemaker implantation is solution
48 beats/min is less heart beat than normal.
Heart rate usually tends to increase during exertion or exercise.
Bradycardia or less heart beat has many causes.
Among them the common causes are athlete, heart block, intracranial space occupying lesion, obstructive jaundice, hypothyroidism etc.
So an ECG & some relevant investigations are needed to exclude the causes.
It is better to consult with a physician to get examination.
Take care.
