Shortness Of Breath, Relieved By Symbicort Turbuhaler. Have History Of Asthma. What Could Cause This?
I have been having shortness of breath for past 2 years. I had asthma during childhood but no wheezing now. I have done CT scan lungs and is normal except for sub centimetre precarinal nodes - 0.6 cm. I am told by my physician that it can occur during slight inflammation and can be normal. I am on Symbicort turbuhaler and have some relief . Clinically my lungs /CVS are normal. I am just concerned for cause of this shortness of breath. Thanks.
hi i have gone through your query and i am concerned about your worries. you said you had asthma in your childhood.and now having shortness of breath for two years. to label it as an asthma you need to undergo spirometry (pulmonary function test) in which you can be diagnosed as an obstructive or restrictive lung disease and after doing a post bronchodilator spirometry we can conclude if it is asthma or not by seeing >12% of change in fev1 and >200ml change in fev1 regarding those subcentimeter nodules those could be as your doctor said because of inflammation. regarding medications if your using symbicort turbuhaler ,and you r feeling sob on and off you can use levolin inhaler sos basis and if levolin is being used for >2 times per day along with symbicort then you need to consult your doctor for change of medications
