Shortness Of Breath, Tightness In Chest After Inhaling Fumes Of Dishwasher Motor. Advice?
Purchased a used dishwasher with a bad motor. I inhaled the fumes for 2 days. I went to the er for shortness of breath and was given a breathing treatment. It helped tremendously. I still have some tightness in my chest 3 days later. We have had the windows open for 2 days and havent turned on the dishwasher. Should I be concerned?
Yes it looks like you have got hyperreactive airway disease. Your airways are very prone to get a bronchospasm and difficulty in breathing when coming in contact with such fumes, smoke or dust. The treatment given to u in the emergency room was only symptomatic however it has not completely resolved your problem. You need some bronchodilators and inhaled steroids for the time being and a lung function test to confirm the diagnosis
