Should Cefpodoxime Be Continued Even When There Is No Fever Or Cold?
Hi My baby Boy is of 7 months old. He was identified with UTI through urine test. We are using cefpodoxime [macpod drops] antibiotic daily of 2 doses, 1ml in morning and night. After using for 2 days, he got recovered from cold and fever which he had already when we went to pediatrician.After urine culture report, it shows bacteria is RESISTANT for cefpodoxime which we are using already. But my kid is doing good without fever and cold.we are confused now. What should we do. Exactly 4 days before we started this antibiotic medicine. Whether to continue the same or not. If we have to continue, how long we can wait n go for test one more time... Kindly suggest.

Take the drug for 5 days in total. If child is recovered, stop after 5 days. Go for test again only if any problem persists otherwise not needed
