Should Ginette Be Started On The Day Of Menstruation?

Hi, do I have to start ginet on the red for the first time? I was previously on Ava and I tried to skip my period by not taking the sugar pills but now I ve had a light period for over a month. My doctor told me to wait seven days before beginning ginet, however it says on the packet I should start taking ginet when I get my period, what should I do?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Ginette 35 Contraceptive Pill used for Birth Control. It is composed of Ethinyl Estradiol and Cyproterone Acetate. It is presented as blister strip of 28 tablets which contains 21 active hormonal film-coated tablets plus 7 inactive non-hormonal tablets.
For the first cycle the subject should take the first tablet on the first day of the cycle (first day of the menstrual bleeding). Thereafter, one tablet should be taken daily, following the sequence of the arrows, at the same time, until all the tablets have been taken. The first tablet should be taken from the silver section (of the calender pack), commencing with the appropriate day as indicated on the strip.
For subsequent cycles, a new pack should be started the very next day after completing the previous pack, once again starting from the appropriate day within the silver section of the strip.
This method should be followed as long as the contraception is desired.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
