Should HCG Injections Be Stopped Before A Knee Replacement Surgery?

I will be having a total knee replacement surgery on th 27th of Sept. I am on HcG for weight loss. My surgeon wants me to stop the injections now before surgery. Why would he want me to do that? And how long will it be in my system. I have a pre-op work up on Thursday, Sept 21. Thank you.
