Should I Be Concerned About Stomach Rumbling For 3 Days With No Diarrhea But Mucusy Stool And Gas?

My stomach is been rumbling a lot. Slight discomfort for 3 days. No pain.
I haven't had diarrhea however my stool has had a lot of mucus I guess.
I've been going regularly but not more than normal.
Also I've had lots of gas.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I read your question very carefully.
Symptoms you refer make me think that you suffer from colitis. Colitis is a disease that affects on colon.
The causes of this disease are unknown, but there are some factors that favor this disease, such as spicy foods, sauces, milk, coffee and alcoholic drinks. So I recommend you to eliminate these.

You need an exact diagnosis so you need:
1- A physical examination by your gastroenterologist.
2- Laboratory tests(stool culture and sensitivity, stool ova and parasites).
3- Abdominal ultrasound.
4- Colonoscopy.

You can make a Ct-scan if it is needed.

Consult your gastroenterologist.

Regards.
Dr. Behar.
