Should I Be Concerned About Taking Depo-Medrol Injection Together With Gabapentin?

Today I was given an injection in my knee of depomedrol for pain and inflamation. I have developed quite a headache which isn't responding to ibuprofin today. I also take Gabapentin for neuropathy in my lower legs which is a seizure medication as well. Should I be concerned about the combination of the injection med with the Gabapentin?

Hi,

Depo-Medrol and Gabapentin do not interact with each other so a headache that you've developed after taking Depo-Medrol injection may be due to Depo-Medrol itself as a headache is one of the side effects of this drug.

Any particular symptom which develops after taking a particular medicine for the first time should be checked on the subsequent doses.

If you experience this type of headache on the next dose, you should talk to your doctor who will prescribe you another NSAID for your headache if Depo-Medrol injection has to continue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Depo-Medrol may cause a headache and flushing etc.

You may take Tramadol or Paracetamol.

Gabapentin more useful in a migrainous headache or neuropathic pain or chronic depression associated with pain.

You can take Gabapentin along with Depo Medrol. No interactions are found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
