Should I Be Concerned About The Swelling In The Eyelids?

My son is 15 and was slammed down during a wrestling match on Saturday. His right eyelid twitched for about an hour after. No headache, sensitivity, etc... It quit. His right eyelid swelled a little Saturday night then cleared up. It is swelled up again tonight. How concerned should I be?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that your son got injured during a wrestling match and he is having swelling of the eyelids.
This is because of collection of blood in the layers of skin of eyelid. This will decrease over 3-4 weeks as the blood gets absorbed.
Hence no need to worry about this.
But if vision is involved it requires examination by ophthalmologist to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
