Should I Be Concerned As I Have Pain In Ribs Under My Right Breast After A Fall?
I tripped and fell on my arm which was tucked under my body over my right breast. The fall winded me. Since then I have experienced pain in the ribs under my right breast and the same location in my back. I am able to breath ok, coughing or sneezing is painful and the pain is worse at night when lying down. I have not been to the doctor however the pain seems to be getting worse. This accident happened 10 days ago. Should I be concerned?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing Based on your description of injury , you may continue with Ice fomentation (3-4 times a day), rest by having rib belt, Take drugs like aceclofenac along with trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling, and avoid sleeping on the injured site. These are prescription only drug's so you may have to contact your local doctor. It is advisable to get x ray chest done if the pain persists . Mean while Hope this information suffices. Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query. Regards Dr.chugh,Orthopaedic surgeon Virtual clinic http://bit.ly/drmchugh
