Should I Be Concerned For Having Haemophilus Influenzae During Pregnancy?

I am 12 weeks pregnant and had a vaginal culture that came back positive for haemophilius influenzae positive. How concerned should I be? I am have no abnormal symptoms. I also want to know if my husband should be checked and/or treated. Is my 10month old son at risk?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The positive culture report during pregnancy is not much to worry. This infection can be properly controlled with medicines. It can aggravate preterm labor pains if left untreated.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
