Should I Be Concerned For The Cough, Tightness In Chest And Numbness In Forearm And Hand?
I am 40 yrs old and a white male. I don't smoke or drink. I had a pain for several weeks in my back near the shoulder blades...thought it was the way I sleep as I spend a lot of nights in hotels with my travel schedule. Anyway, lately I have been coughing and when I do my chest is tight and my right forearm and hand becomes numb. Is this serious? Should I be concerned?
chest tightness and involvement of the arm are definitive features of impending heart attack you should absolutely get a ct angiography, if not a full angiography till you get to that, a dobutamine stress echo, lipid profile ,and fbs ppbs should be tested too
i would suggest you to start ecosprin and atorvastatin immediately unless you are proven not to have coronary disease
having said that the alternative options you might have are cervical spondylosis, severe gastritis undiagnosed diabetes but i think you should rule out the coronary disease urgently
best of luck please meet a cardiologist at the earliest
