Should I Be Tested For Lung Cancer After Quitting Smoking?
I started smoking when I was 15 and my parents smoked around me when I was young. I quit smoking on a daily basis about a year and a half ago and started running. Now I will have an occassional smoke if I've had a glass of wine or it's a social setting. I know I'm increasing my chances of lung cancer by doing this and I would like to quit altogether so I try not to drink but on occassion, it's a battle if you are a previous smoker and you like to drink the two go hand in hand it seems. When should I begin testing for lung cancer? I just turned 33 in September.
dear friend you can do primary check up of your lungs at anytime. x-rays and other investigations like lung function/capacity test by spirometry, breathometer, etc,lt will ruleout any problems with your chest like initial stage of asthama, copd and lung cancer also. asthma and copd is most common to long time smokers. once if your lungs damaged by smoking, the damage will be permanant. so it is better to stop smoking and drinking as early as possible, because there is no benifit of smoking and drinking in life at all.
hope this answer will be helpful to you. for more queries plz don't hassitate to ask.
