Should I Be Worried About A Small Lump On My Child's Head?
Hi my 7 year old son fell at school and bumped his forehead. It was quite a lump and a nasty graze. A few days later he bumped again just to the side of it( a much less bump but did cause a bruise). Now the original graze has healed but is left with a small lump under the skin where he hit his head the second time. It also looks a bit dimpled. Should I be worried about the lump?
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
You should not worry but get a physical examination by your doctor or paediatrician once. Please take care that recurrent injuries do not occur.
If a child has vomiting, loss of consciousness, bleeding from the ear or nose or seizures after a head injury it is a emergency in which case you will have to consult your doctor immediately.
