Should I Consult The Doctor For The Chronic Sinusitis And Gastritis And Could The White Patch On The Tongue Be Viral Infection?
I have chronic sinusitis and developed symptoms before the holidays. My doctor gave me cefdinir for 12 days nd Flonase. . I also have chronic gastritis and take pantoprazole. I've been feeling run down for nearly three weeks. A few days ago I started having pain in my mouth making it difficult t eat. The area around the tongue frenulum looked red. No bumps, but today there's a white patch. Is this likely a virus or infection due to the fact I am rundown or that the antibiotic my have upset my immune system balance? I am considering going t the dentist. What do you recommend?
Hi. The problem around the frenulum of tongue is more probably due to an aphthous ulcer, the exact reason is not known but occurs in cases of chronic problems as you are suffering from. I would advise such patients to get review Endoscopy and CT Scan of sinuses , may be a culture of infection of sinuses to help towards cure . These problems need a long and persistent treatment.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if I would be your doctor then I would ask you to stop the antibiotic, and would put you on long acting second generation anti histamine, and the best drug would be "Loratidine" one tab. twice a day would give good result, along with this drink lot of water have hot drinks, just nothing to worry, every thing will be alright, the white patch on the tongue could be due to the fungal infection and for that you have to apply antifungal, preparation, have nice day.
