Should I Get A Flu Shot Or Any Antibiotics If I M Recovering From Sinus Infection And Bad Cold That Included Phlegm?
I m recovering from a pretty bad cold that included flem by the ton but I seem to have pain from a sinus infection so I m going to the Dr tomorrow. Should I just let my body continue to fight it off as it seems to be improving or go for the antibiotics? Also, is it OK to get a flu shot at this point?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having cold with phlegm and recovering from sinus infection. The presence of phlegm indicates infection of mucosal surface like nose or sinuses. If the color of the phlegm is yellow it indicates suppurative nature of infection. This requires treatment by antibiotics , decongestants and mucolytic drugs. Steam inhalation will provide rapid symptomatic relief.
Thank you
