Should I Get My Gallbladder Removed Incase It Ruptures Due To Stones?
In November I had a gallbladder attack in which I went to the hospital to get pain medication to relieve me of the pain. I have had no re-occuring attacks since. However, I had an ultrasound done, and my results showed that I have a gallbladder that is packed with stones. My doctor suggested I leave it to see if I have any more problems. But should I get it removed incase it ruptures? Or can I leave it, and hope I don't have re-occuring attacks?
having gall-stone (stones in gal-bladder) most of the time remains asymptomatic but sometime it may give u trouble. As you already got the pain attack the chances are high that you will get the problem again. I as a doc suggest you not to get it removed until you get serious troubles like, burst/perforation gallbladder jaundice secondary infection obstruction in bile duct. Till that time take some precaution measures like 1) avoid high fat diet 2) don't take painkillers like morphine and other narcotics 3) alcohol must be avoided 4) routine ultra sonography
