I have has 2 rounds of Prednisone dose Pakistan. One for sciatica, then I developed bronchitis and was Rx a second dose Pakistan. near the end of the second round I developed dizziness, some blurred vision and leg weakness. I finished the pak anyway 3 days ago. I still have leg weakness and just do not feel well. Should I refuse steroids in the future?

Hi,

The studies on effectiveness of prednisone in parkinsonism, has shown mixed results. Though, the long term use of steroids has its own side effects. Still, the symptoms you are describing do not seem to be related to use of prednisone. The symptoms of dizziness and blurred vision, do not occur with short term use of prednisone. Also, as you are already having illness of sciatica, therefore, the weakness of legs, may be itself a symptom of sciatica and not of prednisone.

Hence, in my opinion, you should consult your doctor about this, before making any decision yourself in this regards. I will also like to emphasize that, as you are already having symptoms of parkinsonism as well as of sciatica. Both being related to disorder of nerves, your symptoms of blurred vision and dizziness may also be someway related to nervous system. Hence, you may be advised to see a neurologist about this and treatment may be done under his guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
