Should I Stop Taking Diane And Continue Taking Althea Again To Overcome Persistent Bleeding?
hi.. i was given DMPA contraceptive last june 12, 2018.. and my menstruation hasn t stopped since then.. My OB recommended althea pills to stop the bleeding.. and it worked.. i stopped taking althea coz it made my skin dry so I started using diane 35 pills.. and the bleeding started again.. should i stop taking diane and continue taking althea again? and until when is the irregularity of my menstruation due to DMPA contaceptive?

Hi,
The Depo shots take a long period (6 months to 2 years at the most) to revert back to normal menstruation. In case Althea helps you to control your prolonged bleeding, you can restart it with your doctor's advice. Skin dryness can be controlled by use of moisturizers or oral vitamin A.
