Should I Take Advil To Reduce The Temperature?

Hi, I currently have a sore throat and a fever that has been occurring for the past three days. I already took 6 advil today all spread out to 4-6 hours. Right now I have a temp and tried cooling off but nothing is working. Should I take an advil now?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from viral infection causing fever and sore throat and as antibiotics do not work in case of viral infection as well as antibiotics are not found effective the treatment given is supportive to reduce fever and pain..

To reduce fever it will be better if you take Acetaminophen or tylenol as it has better fever reducing efficacy..
If there is body pain or sore throat Ibuprofen is a better choice..
You can take a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen like Ibugesic Plus twice a day..
Do cold sponges over the forehead and body for reducing body temperature..
Take sufficient rest,keep hydrated and take a light diet..
