Should I Take Antibiotics Along With Macrobid For Bladder Infection, Frequent Urination And Pelvic Area Pain?
I am taking macrobid for a bladder infection. I still have mild pain in pelvic area as well as occasional urge to urinate with only about a cup of output. Tomorrow is my last of seven days on the antibiotic should I seek out a physician to repeat the prescription?
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have UTI and taking Macrobid since 1 week.
Macrobid is Nitrofurantoin whichi is urinary antiseptic and acts as a antibiotic too. However it is always preferred to take it in combination with other antibiotic commonly used and effective in UTI like Ciprofloxacin to get relief faster.
You can continue taking it for one more week to have complete cure . Dr.Patil.
