hi, i have a massive stye on my left eyelid that had not started to weep after 13 days. the gp has prescribed fucidin and it has been great. today the eyelid where the massive stye is situated began to weep. it has now encrusted. should i still use the ointment? my eyelid is now completely swollen and is almost closing over the pupil of the eye. is this normal?
Local antibiotics usually do not help in case of a stye. Just application of heat in the form of warm compresses should suffice. Apply for 10 minutes, thrice a day along with Tablet Ibugesic plus, 1 tablet twice a day for 2-3 days. If the swelling persists then visit an ophthalmologist for further treatment. Fusidin is not recommended for ocular use.
