Sirs, I was at the hair dresser yesterday. The hair dresser used a blade to clean the hair at the back of my neck. The skin in an area about 1 inch became red after a while and i start having pain. I have not noticed any visible cut and after scratching the surface i noticed two small blood spots. If the blade was exposed to HIV virus previously could i be infected. The blade was not used for at least 15 minutes. Should I take any test?Best Regards, George
Hello. Thanks for posting your query at our health forum. HIV/AIDS mostly spreads through sexual intercourse, and the incidence of HIV spreading through infected blade is very very low. However it is possible. Just to be on the safer side, and i know this will trouble you even in the future, so it is better to take an HIV combo test after 2 weeks of the alleged exposure. If it comes out negative there is nothing to worry about. Hope this is helpful, Regards
