Should I Visit Doctor For Pain While Urinating?

My 12 year old son is complaining that it hurts when he urinates? He is currently taking amoxicillin, so I don t know if a urine test will show anything right now. I was wondering if soap could be irritating him causing the pain. Should I contact his doctor?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your 12 years old son has dysuria.

Please get his routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please give him broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to see that he drinks more water.To keep his urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
