Should Lactolite Or Walamycin Suspension Be Given To A 3-year-old Underweight Child?
Hi.my son is about 3yrs but his weight is 9 kg. yesterday doctor prescribe lactolite 10 ml in night.after it he start loose motion at least 13 to 14 times yet now. Next we meet once more doctor and he prescribed walamycin suspension, but my child become too weak. What shall we do.plsss respond your advise and define it s dose also.
Stop giving your son Lactolite immediately and yes, Walamycin can certainly be given even if your son is underweight as the dose is fixed according to weight. It is prescribed for gastrointestinal infections.
Your child has become weak as he is dehydrated and he has lost electrolytes. Give him small amounts of bland diet at frequent intervals and also start giving him ORS solution. So far as the dose is concerned it is always better to ask your doctor who has prescribed it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
